While searching around for more tips on plants you can grow from grocery fruits and veggies I found a really cool blog.

It is by this guy in the UK who in March 2002 bought a couple pineapples from the grocery store and planted the crowns. He kept track of the different stages of growth that his pineapple plant went through with really awesome pictures. The blog is split into three sections: The beginning plant stages, the flower stage (this is how a pineapple becomes a pineapple), and the harvesting stage. Yep you heard that right...he was able to grow his very own tropical little pineapple in the UK. It took him three years (the final pictures were taken in Sept 2005) but I'd say his patience was for the win! :)

I highly recommend you check it out as it's really interesting. If nothing else it's very cool to see how the pineapple fruit actually grows. Check it out here

I'm definatly intrigues with trying this out myself now. However I think I'll wait and see how my avocados go first.

Though if you were inspired too I found a wonderful referance on growing your own pineapple to get you started: How to grow a pineapple
