Rye Bread : Wheat Free UK Recipe

I finally find a Rye bread recipe that contains no wheat yet is really simple. Great huh?
Yep...except for one thing. It's a UK recipe so everything is in grams and liters. Trying to convert this recipe is giving me a headache. Though if anyone wants to try and help...here are the measurements:

1 kg rye flour
20g fresh yeast
800 ml tepid water
20g sea salt

The rest of the recipe is here if you would like it.

Doesn't it make it difficult for everyone who has grown up using Imperial measurements to suddenly have to learn a new set for cooking?
And especially since I'm presuming that tinned vegies, etc are still measured in ounces?
You know, the height thing isn't a huge surprise. Even though we use metric here in AU, I still know my height in feet and inches, and I know my childrens birth weights in pounds and ounces. Its just easier since we're fairly new converts to metric.

all tinned things (everything sold in shops, really) come in metric!

I dunno if the metric thing makes it difficult, though. a) weight-based rather than amount-based cooking seems to have been the norm here for a really long time and b) I'll have to ask my in-laws or something, I've only lived here for a year. :)
